In this two-session class, learn the basics of crochet while making a sampler scarf. Great class for beginners and those needing a refresher, and perfect for the knitter who wants to learn crochet. Curriculum is written for adults and children over the age of 12.

The course will cover casting on, knit, purl, simple stitch patterns, increase, decrease, fixing simple mistakes and binding off. Our project will be a dishcloth of cotton yarn. Learn fair-isle colorwork and demystify steeking. Steeking means to cut your knitting and finish off the raw edge. You will create a swatch in the round and Jean will lead you through the basics of fair-isle knitting, also known as stranded knitting, and guide you through the techniques needed to steek. Please be confident knitting in the round with one of the following methods before registering for this class: magic-loop method, two circulars method, or double-pointed needles.

This beautiful functional bag is done with mitered squares and worked in one piece. The bag uses just the knit stitch and double decreases, and a fun process to create the edge. Mary will lead you through the process of knitting and then teach you how to felt your work.

After completing Beginning Knitting, you are ready for the next step. This class will teach you an additional cast-on, new increases and decreases, and rib stitch. This class will also touch on the importance of gauge and discuss pattern reading. Must have completed Beginning Knitting class or have equivalent experience.

Create a sampler pillow cover with Tunisian Crochet stitches. You will learn the Tunisian Simple Stitch, Tunisian Knit, Tunisian Purl, Tunisian Honeycomb, and buttonholes. *This project can easily be turned into a scarf or wrap, but the pillow cover is a quick project that allows you to quickly get to the next section and learn more stitches.

Join Ashley Laudick, a new teacher at KND, to learn the traditional granny square. This class is a perfect follow-up to Beginning Crochet. We will demonstrate seaming techniques so you'll know how to join your squares together.

This lovely cowl is full of new techniques including two-color and three-color braids, jogless stripes, and slipped stitches among others. You'll also learn to make a turned hem and a two-color bind-off. This is a great stash buster project as you use a small amount of each of five colors of worsted weight yarn. This class meets three times, but spread over five weeks to give you time to keep up and finish your project on schedule.
