Using the same concept as the Butterfly/Papillon shawl, this two-pointed poncho is knitted top-down in the round. Pools of color are formed using short rows and a long gradient yarn. You may choose to knit it in either fingering weight or worsted weight yarn. Lorrie's sample is in fingering.
For the intermediate knitter who knows how to cast-on, knit in the round, increase, work to a consistent gauge, and read knitting instructions.
